Spectator Fee of $5 will be collected at the door.  All spectator fees go to Powerful Purpose New Mexico to help students with expenses related to competition.

Coaches and Non Competing Judges get in free COACHES MUST WEAR UNIFORM, SUIT, OR WARM UP SUIT

Children under 5 get in free

 

Sparring will be one 2 minute round for color belts, and two 2 minute rounds for black belts.

Patterns will be head to head competition with simultaneous performance.  Color Belts must perform pattern of their current rank or one below.  Black Belts will perform one designated and one optional pattern.

Power Breaking  Color belts will perform any standing or stepping kick Black Belts will perform all prescribed techniques

Special Technique Color belts will perform high kick  Black Belts will perform prescribed techniques.

Pre-Arranged Free Sparring  Color Belt teams of two competitors 12 years and older or Black Belts teams of two competitors regardless of age will perform a prepared scenario 60-75 seconds (refer to ITF Competition Rules) Scenario shall contain no more than 3 acrobatic techniques and will be performed with proper technique and realism

Step Sparring Color Belt teams of 2 competitors under 12 will perform step sparring sequence of their choice appropriate to their rank.  10th-7th Gup- 3 step sparring, 3 sets (One Directional), 6th-4th Gup- 2 step sparring, 3 sets, and 3rd-1st 1 step sparring, 3 sets.

Black belts and higher color belts will be asked to assist in judging in order to ensure fairness and expeditiousness of the overall tournament.

Focus will be on courtesy.  Please instruct students on ring protocol and advise parents and coaches on appropriate conduct.  Aggressive, inappropriate or discourteous behavior may result in disqualification. Let's make this a great event for everyone!
